A unique vineyards

The climate of the region is continental, with a slight Mediterranean influence since the Jiloca River flows from southeastern to northern direction, with irregular and low average rainfall (380 l / year), influences strong and self-regulating old vines. The roots of our strains sink into drylands that are more than 500 million years old surrounded by the fossils of those trilobites which, somehow, come back to life in those vines that feed and perhaps contemplate with his old eyes, the first eyes that existed on our planet.

This unique and strong link emerged between the trilobites and the vine (“vites” in Latin) merges into our wine TRILO-VITES, which contains traces of life on Earth more than 500 million years ago. We have taken extreme care of its cultivation, recovering traditional methods and respecting self-regulated vineyards, without using pesticides or altering their natural dynamics. The result is an extraordinary wine.

Valdespinar

VINEYARD OF COUPAGE IN THE STYLE OF OLD WINE VITICULTORES

1960s, 1.16 Ha. 845 m of altitude. It is in the municipality of Villafeliche.

We have preserved the old, classic vineyard of the area in which the coupage, the ideal mixture of grapes to make the wine to the taste of the winegrowers, was the mixture of different varieties in the same vineyard. Then each author, in each of the many houses that had their own winery, had his "secret and insurmountable" touch. In Valdespinar the garnacha tinta dominates and provechones (bobal), cariñenas (giving more color), some small garnachas blancas groups and even some strain of “cojón de gato” grapes that must have come from Somontano are mixed.

Soon we will make a wine from this vineyard only.

Take care of the vineyard

And the vineyard takes care of us... Manual pruning is done in our vineyards, never before February. The harvest is always manual and in boxes for optimal care of berries, starting from October 12 almost always and harvesting some years in November, all to obtain a degree of ripeness and acidity optimal and leave the yeasts reach their moment.

Our garnachas have a high concentration of sugars, which, thanks to the wealth of yeasts present in soils and berries, produce spontaneous fermentation, resulting in great natural wines.

Wildlife in our vineyards is enormous, from rabbits to mountain goats, roe deer, wild boar, partridges and all kinds of birds that make the environment a haven of peace, from where every day harder for us to leave.
